St George's Day is England's national day and is celebrated on the 23rd April each year. The date is special as it is the anniversary of the death of Saint George in 303 AD. Each year there is a public celebration in London which draws a large police presence. In recent years the celebration has become more of an attack on anything considered non-British than a celebration of British culture and identity.
