An estimated 200,000 to 250,000 pro-Palestine protesters marched in London today as people came together to remember the Nakba. 1500 police officers came to police the event and protect both sides as pro-Israel counter protesters from 'Enough Is Enough' held a small corner of Piccadilly Circus. Both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protesters hurled insults at each other amid shouts of "shame!" but the officers on the scene managed to keep the peace.
The protest marked 76 years since the original Nakba, and the date, 15/05 is remembered around the world as the beginning of Israel's attempts to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from the land.
